Gloss HyperDip® can be applied over existing Shadow Black HyperDip® if the existing Shadow Black is in great condition. No tears, no texture, no stains. To apply Gloss HyperDip® over previously applied Shadow Black: wash the surface with soap and water, allow the surface to dry for 24 hours, wipe the surface thoroughly with PreDip Spray, then wipe the surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol. If all of those steps are completed, you can lay 2 wet coats of Gloss HyperDip® on top and should have great results. Q&A:How many coats do I need to lay down? You would need to start with 4 tack coats and then apply 4-5 wet coats. How long should I wait in-between coats? You want to wait 5-7 minutes between each dust coat and 15-25 minutes (depending on ambient temperature) between each wet coat. What is the difference between a tack coat and a wet coat?A tack coat is a light dust coat with minimal coverage preventing sags and runs. A wet coat is a ‘full coat’ where you lay down a lot of paint in one pass.Temperature guidelines:Ideal temps for application range from 30F – 95F, however HyperDip® is sensitive to humidity. Humidity levels at or below 50% are ideal.Test all applications in a small inconspicuous area to make sure it will meet your expectations and is suitable for each unique surface. Although HyperDip® has proven to be safe and predictable, every surface is unique and it’s impossible to predict how each surface will react. Aerosols are not designed to spray large or horizontal surfaces. Aerosols are not suitable for spraying hoods, roofs, doors, etc. Please utilize our gallons and sprayers for those surfaces.Clean each surface with PreDip Spray to remove any dirt, debris, oils, waxes, grease, or loose rust, then let dry completely before spraying HyperDip®. Coat each dipped surface with DipCoat Protective Spray 4 hours after dip has dried for best results.
